Indian farmers protest is in the headlines globally now and several actors are supporting them. Recently, singer and actress Rihanna took to Twitter to support the ongoing farm protests in Delhi and questioned the suspension of internet services at the protest sites.
She shared a news report on suspension of internet services after clashes between farmers and police, Rihanna said: “why aren’t we talking about this?! (sic)”.

To which actress, Kangana Ranaut commented: no one is talking about it as the protesters are not farmers, but “terrorists”. She went on to call Rihanna a “fool”.
This did not only irk Rihanna’s fans from all across the world but also pissed those appreciating the courage of an international pop icon to notice a contentious matter taking place in India.
Few other actors urged the Kisan Ekta Morcha, a key organisation representing protesting farmers, to consider suing Kangana for defaming farmers.
Rihanna’s tweet supporting the farmers agitation has gone viral. Her tweet gathered around 2.5 lakh likes and more than 1.25 lakh retweets within a few hours of her posting it on Twitter.
In another tweet, Rihanna posted about Myanmar, saying her prayers are with the country.
For the past two months, thousands of farmers from Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh, have been protesting for over two months on the borders of Delhi against three new farm laws enacted by the Centre. The protests took a violent turn on 26th January, resulting in clashes between protesters and police.
